f the NATURE of our Travels: RAILS, GALLINULES and COOTS

RAILS, GALLINULES and COOTS

Rails, Gallinules and Coots are members of the Rallidae Family. They are small to medium sized ground-living birds that are often found in wetland areas. Although they can fly, most prefer to run instead. Coots have often been seen running across the water to help them take flight.
